In the Spirit of Silly Tuesday -

While photographing a Siberian Lynx at the Triple D in Montana, I learned that timing is everything. ;-)

The Big Guy from Regina, Canada

Well B you could have gotten allot less!!! You've definitely given the viewer a sense of speed and direction, well done...

@The Big Guy: Thanks.

JanW from Rotterdam, Netherlands

Super, the lynx knew that this was the pose for a Silly Tuesday picture. Well done.

28 Jul 2009 9:27am

@JanW: Exactly my thought too. ;-) Thanks.

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

Well captured Barbara! Gives a whole new meaning to the term "hightailing it!"..... ;-)))

@Eric Cousineau: Once again, you are the master of titles!

john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United States

Outstanding. Happy ST.

28 Jul 2009 2:50pm

@john4jack: Happy ST to you too. ;-)

PD from Overland Park, Kansas, United States

Nice ST shot! Your question on Jack's page -- to show a URL as "here". TYpe your comment without adding the URL, then select the word "here", then click on the "url" button below the comment. Then type in (or paste in) your URL where it has "url=http". Give it a try

28 Jul 2009 3:05pm

@PD: Thanks, and also thank you for the URL info!

Bethany from Michigan, United States

So true about timing. It is difficult to capture animals. Happy ST!

28 Jul 2009 3:50pm

@Bethany: I usually shoot too soon. I did get the shot before this one though. ;-)

Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United States

How many times have I learned this lesson the hard way? Great try. I'd have been too thrilled to actually "see" this lynx to have remembered to click the shutter at all.

28 Jul 2009 4:23pm

@Viewfinder: This was the second shot, and I did get him, but thought this was sooo funny. I think I like this one better than the first one coming up tomorrow.

Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, Morocco

Oh that's great ,very well captured ! A super ST !

28 Jul 2009 4:35pm

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: Thanks. ;-))

Vanilla Wine from United States

28 Jul 2009 4:41pm

@Vanilla Wine: Thanks. And thanks for your comments on some of my other older shots you just added!

Dawn from Maryland, United States

Great silly Tuesday shot!! Timing is something I am struggling with as well. : )

28 Jul 2009 7:39pm

@Dawn: Thanks. I usually shoot too soon with wildlife, but I really did get the sot before this one. ;-)

jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United States

Well captured I think! Like the play on words.

28 Jul 2009 11:52pm

@jeff (aka dogilicious): Thanks. My husband came up with the title so I'd better give credit! ;-)

Tracy from La Selva Beach, United States

Love your play on words! I think that 1/2 a Lynx as better than no Lynx at all! I think that this is why I stick to landscapes :)

29 Jul 2009 2:04am

@Tracy: Thanks. Actually, this was the second shot, and I'll post the first one tomorrow. I just thought this was a funny Silly Tuesday shot.

Claudia from Illinois, United States

Haha. Love your comment about timing. But you know...something great about this because you missed him. Almost as if you timed it perfectly to only catch his hind and fore legs!

29 Jul 2009 2:13am

@Claudia: As I said to Tracy, this was the second shot, and I'll post the first one tomorrow. I just thought this was a funny Silly Tuesday shot. But if it was my only shot, I'd still like it. ;-)))

Lambspun from Madison, Maine, United States

Holy certainly learned about timing for sure....I would say that you did catch this guy by the skin of his butt....nice one!

29 Jul 2009 3:42am

@Lambspun: Ha, ha. Thanks. I actually got a shot before that which I'll post tomorrow. Skin of his butt - I like that. ;-))

Sarah from Suisse, Switzerland

haha, this made me laugh!

29 Jul 2009 2:29pm

@Sarah: That was the plan. ;-)) It made me laugh too!

Betty from New Jersey, United States

Ah, an excellent lesson learned. Great ST shot!

29 Jul 2009 9:38pm

@Betty: Thanks.

Photosanity from Folsom, United States

Hey Barbara! Did you take my memory card by mistake ? LOL --- I had a bunch of these shots too!

29 Jul 2009 10:35pm

@Photosanity: LOL, no, but those critters were all very fast! I had a lot of these, but they made the good ones more special.
