I love the thought of what's just around the bend.....This is a beautiful scene- I like the way you've captured such a sense of distance here.

24 Feb 2010 5:54am

@Tracy: Thanks, Tracy. It was a dusty and bumpy road, but as we came over a hill it was a "stop the car" moment. ;-)

Dulcie from Danville, CA, United States

Oh, I love this road going through the new growth forest. You've caught the energy and vibrancy of the young trees so beautifully!

24 Feb 2010 7:45am

@Dulcie: Thanks, Dulcie. You are so right about it being new growth forest. As you can see, some of the old burned tree trunks are still standing.

Wow, this looks like a picture postcard ! Love the way the pic has captured the sense of distance and height..the nearby trees seemingly taller than the distant mountains :)

Bob from Bolivar, United States

nice shot. I like how the road make my mind wander and eventually end up at the base of those peaks in my imagination. and those peaks, I think those two specific peaks are familiar? Glacier NP?

28 Feb 2010 3:51pm

@Bob: Yes, Glacier, on the dirt road to Bowman Lake on the west side up past Polebridge. That was such a pretty drive!

Bob from Bolivar, United States

actually, is the left one "Triple Divide Peak"?

28 Feb 2010 3:52pm

@Bob: This was on the road to Bowman Lake, and I'll take your word for the name of the peak.
