Paradise Where Horses Go

Posted by
B. Thomas (Arlington, Texas, United States) on 13 June 2010 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.

@Judy: Thanks, Judy. They were running for the corral.

Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, Canada

What a wonderful uplifting shot Barbara! I immediately thought of John Denver's song "Eagles & Horses"

Horses are creatures who worship the earth
As they gallop on feet of ivory
Constrained by the wonder of dying and birth
The horses still run, they are free

My body is merely the shell of my soul
But the flesh must be given it’s due
Like a pony that carries it’s rider back home
Like an old friend that’s tried and been true

I had a vision of eagles and horses
High on a ridge in a race with the wind
Going higher and higher and faster and faster
On eagles and horses I’m flying again

Well done! ;-)

@Eric Cousineau: Thanks, Eric. We are big JD fans, and have gone to Aspen in October several time to hear some of his band members and others do tribute concerts. So much of his music was about things and places that we love. That is a great song, and I have actually planned to use it with some other horse photos later on! ;-)
