Posted by

The South Entrance Road crosses the Lewis River near Moose Falls just one mile from the Yellowstone boundary.

Look at the little bit of yellow - tiny flowers? - just in the middle of the green on that islet in the river! I wonder if that boulder has always been there.....just because I saw what a typhoon did to rivers and mountains and villages just a week ago!

Beautiful B. A photo after my own heart. Great stone work in the bridge, I wonder if it was a WPA project?

I how you moved upstream to get this fine shot of the river including the stone bridge. Excellent image.

This is a nicely framed scene Barbara. I like that big boulder claiming stage front, and then allowing us further entry to enjoy the lovely old stone bridge.

What a beautiful capture this is of this arched stone bridge!!! They don't make them any better :) For some reason the photo makes me think it looks cold out! ;)

16 Sep 2011 8:42pm

@Sandy Weston: Thanks, Sandy. It was not cold, but after the weather we had left behind in Texas, it was blissfully COOL!

Beautifully composed with the bridge nestled in the landscape, rather than as an element that stands out. And the river, with its whitecaps, bisects this composition nicely.

@J.R.: It really is. I am trying to show some of the less familiar scenes, as will as the usual iconic locations.
