Strange World

Posted by
B. Thomas (Arlington, Texas, United States) on 31 March 2012 in Landscape & Rural.

The 41,170-acre Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness, New Mexico, is a remote desolate area of steeply eroded badlands which offers some of the most unusual scenery found in the Four Corners region. Time and natural elements have etched a fantasy world of strange rock formations and fossils. It is an ever-changing environment that offers the visitor a remote wilderness experience.

It is indeed the most alien landscape I've seen.
None suffered from the weather yesterday?

Magique !
Nous avons le même phénomène d'érosion en France, on les appelle "demoiselles coiffées" ou bien "cheminées de fée". J'ai vu celles d'Embrun dans les Hautes Alpes il y a quelques années.

@Jerry: I really wanted to be there for early morning light, but we were three hours away so had to shoot from ten until about three. Maybe next time...
