Picture yourself fly-casting in a crystal clear mountain lake with a backdrop of snow-covered peaks, mountain meadows, beaver ponds or aspen groves. Rocky Mountain National Park's lakes and streams offer Colorado fly-fishing at its best.
This summer's high temperatures and low precipitation has created difficult and unusual fishing conditions for Colorado anglers. Several waters have been closed for summer fishing or have requested that anglers fish during the cool early morning hours in an effort to protect the fish and reduce stress and mortality. Other waters have issued public fish salvages to minimize the number of fish deaths due to low flows or reservoir drainages.
