Moose, be Nimble

Posted by
B. Thomas (Arlington, Texas, United States) on 1 September 2012 in Animal & Insect.

They may not look it, but moose are vary nimble on land. They can run up to 35 miles (56 kilometers) an hour over short distances.

Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy it. ~
Henry David Thoreau

Nimble..maybe...but still I find something out of proportion with the built of these animals...Was it looking at YOU? Friendly or not?

@Japanalia: I think they are cool looking. He was not really interested in us at all.

J.R. from Urasoe City, Japan

Built just as he was designed and to some lady moose somewhere he's one cool dude:)

Hallo, Barbara ! Diese Elche sind so imposant und es muß für dich ein schönes Erlebnis gewesen sein, sie aus dieser Nähe zu beobachten. Sehr schön ist auch der Text von Henry David Thoreau, danke !

@Loner: Thanks, Sonja. I'm glad you like it.

Isn't that a youngster? Gosh, they are not cute really. But this is a good capture with dignity. Moose medicine is about Self Esteem. I loved that. One time when down and out, I bought moose earings.

Funny face, indeed. Prima facie, I really can't imagine that a moose may be nimble. But once I have been astonished by the nimbleness of a very big ibex in the mountain.

You lucky gal! I would love to see a Moose in the wild....From a distance, of course! (especially since they run so fast!)
