The propeller is a little bit disturbing in this place where evolves a diver and a ray... It is the beautiful friendly sharing that this swimming in duet

@Focales: The propeller is from the boat we were on, and the driver is in the water with us, so no danger from it.

A lovely image -but that boat propeller looks dangerously close!

7 Feb 2013 7:08pm

@Ruthiebear: It is the boat that we got out there on, and the driver was in the water with us. The ladder to get back in the boat was right there by the prop and we were in no danger from it.

Loner from Wörgl, Austria

Dieser Stachelrochen lebt gefährlich - so nahe am Motorboot !

A very exciting scene and clear view. The stingrays living dangerously. It is his good fortune that the propeller is not active. 5*****

@outsidersworld: Thanks. The prop was from the boat we came on, and the driver was in the water with us. There was no danger from the prop while we were in the water.

I was about to say the same, the propeller and the sting ray look dangerously close, but then I read the explanations above...lovely ! I envy you! This is an excellent scene...the water is beautiful, the tiny colorful fish and the sting ray that cuts right across the image...for an underwater image this is excellent! Thanks for sharing.

If they are used to people feeding them, then they are no threat...and they have graceful movements. In Okinawa (25 years back) we stayed at a hotel that had a pool inside and a few rays were performing dances all the time...I was fascinated by their gracefullness.
