Adobe is the Spanish word for mud brick, a natural building material made from sand, clay, water, and some kind of fibrous or organic material like sticks or straw. Adobe structures are extremely durable, and account for some of the oldest existing buildings in the world.
The Pueblo Revival style is a regional architectural style of the Southwestern United States which draws its inspiration from the Pueblos and the Spanish missions in New Mexico. Adobe style architecture is very prevalent in New Mexico.
The beautiful warm tones of adobe are wonderful to photograph, no matter what the weather is.
