Dance On, Sweet Boy!

Posted by
B. Thomas (Arlington, Texas, United States) on 30 November 2014 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

♥ Dancer, I first saw you out in the field. You were chasing bugs in the morning sun, jumping and twisting in the air with such grace. You could almost fly! I saw you more and more through the summer and realized you were not playing, but you were catching bugs because you were starving. I'll always wonder how your story started, but now I know how it ended because you learned to trust me, and came to live with us for nine years.

You were so beautiful and graceful. I named you Dancer because Mikhail Baryshnikov was already taken, and just didn't seem right for a cat anyway. You were our gentle giant— long and tall, lean and athletic, even funny, but so sweet and patient with the other cats.

You are so missed, and left a hole in my heart. Dance on, sweet boy!

Sorry for your loss, Barbara. Isn't it special that a cat can enter our peripheral vision, catch our eye, and stay in our life? You are a special Mom to animals, such as cats, and foxes... I know your good times outweigh the loss and he will be in your heart always. Thanks for sharing with us.

Barbara... I'm really sorry for your loss... This is a moment to remember, never forget, those golden instants he gave you before leaving this strong world... I'd say cruel world for cats, always misunderstood. I could add he was lucky for having you near... but the truth is... dear Barbara, that you were lucky for having him near ! They know with who they choose to share a life, for sure. Good dance !!!
