Morning Glories

Posted by

There's something magical about morning glories, which do bloom in the morning, then swirl closed as the day fades.

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

Lovely!!! They look ever so young even in the strong sunlight! We have them in the neighbourhood - some very big - and I wonder why do they call them "morning glory" if they still stay open in the afternoon (?!)
In Japan, at this time of the year, there are special markets where growers come to sell the latest hybrids of this plant! Amazing what they can do to both leaves and flowers!!!

Nice backlight and wonderful color. I love these flowers, but keep forgetting to get them planted in the spring so that I may enjoy them in my own yard!
