This is Mananasi, the baby giraffe at the Abilene, Texas Zoo when he was just five weeks old. It's a Swahili word that means "pineapple."
“Pineapple” was their secret code to announce that mother giraffe Punk was going into labor. When that unusual word went out over the zoo's radios, everyone on the staff knew to gather for this little one's birth.
