One Armed Bandits

One armed bandit was a name for a slot machine, named after the 'old' style with the arm on the side you pulled down. That was prior to modern era push button machines.

Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino in Ruidoso, NM, is owned and operated by the Mescalero Apache. It's an interesting place to walk through, but you'd probably do well to hang on to your money. There is a reason "slot" machines are called bandits.

Those machines have been fatal to many. They get people hooked in the same way as bacon or intoxicants. These and the gunpowder could have been left uninhibited.
