Mockingbirds are one of the most commonly noticed birds in Texas. They are either liked for their audaciousness or disliked for their persistence in nocturnal singing or in the defense of their territory. The fact that they enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables hasn't exactly made them gardeners' friends, although they do eat lots of insects.

I've never seen nor heard a mockingbird. Handsome fellow, though not very colourful. I tend to like the pesky birds for some reason.

Still on the plus side along with the insect eating it would seem you get a diversity of song :) Nice capture

It is sometimes difficult for us to accept the sounds of nature. One of my neighbors is sometimes annoyed when the pigeons begin to grab the sunrise and he wakes up to them.

Nicely captured portrait. I went online to hear a recording and video. I have heard this song before. Maybe we have them up here. I recall the song by Ike and Tiny Turner, and the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, the movie being Ron and my favorite all time. So this is the bird that has stimulated such creativity!
