A fun thing to do on the trial to or from The Rock Pile at Moraine Lake was to look for a Pika. A pika is a small mountain-dwelling mammal found in Asia and North America. With short limbs, very round body, and even coat of fur, and no external tail, they resemble their close cousin the rabbit, but with short rounded ears.
They live in rocky areas and are very hard to spot unless they move, and then they are very fast. Pika are hard to see and even harder to photograph. Tomorrow - one pika.
