Frozen Palms

Posted by
B. Thomas (Arlington, Texas, United States) on 15 June 2021 in Plant & Nature.

Silly Tuesday...
Not so silly! Serious winter storm warnings covered the entire State of Texas on February 14, 2021.This unforgettable event had catastrophic impacts to the whole state with failed power grids, burst water pipes, and limited travel.
We are still seeing the results as many tropical trees and plants were killed by the frigid temps.

Shaun from Massachusetts, United States

What a shame the cold weather caused many plants and trees to be killed. Excellent image.

The global climate is undergoing a major change. Its effects are not everywhere desirable. Maybe we can slow it down, but we can’t stop it.

Such an unfortunate result from those storms! It will take time for replenishing all that was lost. Nice to see that other trees survived (background).

That is so sad. Those palms look like they have been there a long time. Is there any chance that they will eventually recover? The gardens are beautiful.
