NYC After 9-11

Posted by
B. Thomas (Arlington, Texas, United States) on 13 September 2021 in Documentary & Street.

I found myself in NYC two months later on Nov. 1-5, 2001. It was a very different trip, a different New York City, from what my friends and I had planned months before. These are scans of pre-digital prints taken on that trip. I have not posted them before, and I mostly took video on those days.

Even two months after the fall of the towers, there were thousands of posters and signs everywhere that there was a space to post them. Many were tributes to friends or family members who were missing. Many were pleas for information about the missing -"have you seen...?" There were so many photos of loved ones, and even pets. It was heartbreaking to see.

End of series of 4.

Here, far away, it is impossible to understand everything that people experienced there in those days and long after that. When something important is lost, a loved one or a pet, who may be the only contact of a lonely person with another living being, there is no limit to the pain.
